With that in mind, it’s become painfully evident that Vanessa has miles to go before she sleeps.ĭirector Leslie Hope’s initial scene puts the camera high above Scab who lies spread eagle on a circular altar as the sisters debate his fate and whether he should be accepted into The Sisterhood. It’s easy to become complacent at the often surgical precision with which Vanessa and Scarlett dispense of the current crop of vampires, but tonight we’re reminded that vampire killing is an ugly business and not everyone faced with that prospect bears the Van Helsing name.

From the opening sequence at a gathering of the Sisterhood, “Hunted Down” takes violent behavior and gruesome imagery to levels Van Helsing has only hinted at previously, but it does so with a purpose. It was the most harrowing scene in the whole series.Lest we forget for a moment the brutality inherent in any apocalyptic event, writer/showrunner Neil LaBute makes absolutely certain we remember the terrifying reality our heroes face on a daily basis. Especially the scene where the (warning - spoiler alert) sisters were castrating Scab to turn him into a sister. The good parts were the horror and violence. Cross genres and inter-movie fun, like crossdressing and interracial porn goodness. Then after that bit of confusion he got more confused and became the Lord of Darkness from the movie Legend. Oh and the actor who played Sam got confused and played the Joker for a bit. And whats with all the romance bullshit? Are we watching Twilight or some shit? Are the daywalkers going to evolve and start sparkling in the damn sun? Wtf.Īnd why if you lived in a world with vampires roaming around would you live in a bus with no fences or even keep the door locked. With Vanessa going through regular existential bullshit. Seasons 1 and 2 had some good entertainment value.īut this 3rd season is just long winded crap with even more inconsistencies.

Man it is getting dumber with each season.
